Infertility affects millions of individuals and families — emotionally, physically, and financially. And while each path to parenthood is unique, the experience is often marked by a deep need for clarity, consistency, and compassion.
This World Infertility Awareness Month, we’re honoring that need by sharing the stories of three Alto employees who have experienced infertility firsthand and relied on Alto’s services during their own journeys.
From navigating IVF for the first time to returning for another round after having a child, their perspectives shed light on what meaningful support can look like from both sides of the experience.
Victoria's story - seeing fertility support on both sides
Victoria, a member of Alto’s Fertility team, knows this experience from both sides — as someone who supports patients every day, and as a patient herself.
Like many hopeful parents, she and her husband Kevin found themselves in a sea of medications, instructions, and emotions. But with Alto, the logistics felt easier — and the support felt personal.
“My husband Kevin and I have nothing but great things to say about Alto during our infertility journey. Having used both Alto and another fertility pharmacy in the past, I can confidently say that Alto has it all.”
From the start, she noticed a difference. Ordering through the app was simple, with clear breakdowns of their costs and insurance details. Choosing her specific delivery date and shipping gave her one less thing to worry about, and getting real-time updates offered peace of mind — she described every step as “smooth and stress-free.”
“When we opened our box of medications, we were immediately impressed by the care taken in packaging. Every medication, syringe, and needle was clearly labeled, making the organization process so much easier.”
But for Victoria, the real difference was knowing someone was there when she needed help.
“My favorite part of using Alto was the ability to message a care team member directly through the app with any questions we had. The injection videos tailored to our specific order were incredibly helpful and made that first injection so much more manageable.”
And of course — the caramels. 🍬
“It may seem small, but during such an overwhelming time, those little gestures truly make a difference.”

Symone's story - finding strength in the unexpected
When Symone and her husband decided to expand their family, she never imagined that infertility would be part of their journey — especially after having her first child naturally.
“I never thought that after conceiving a child naturally that IVF would be something that I would also have to go through. But I did, and I'm here to share my story.”
Symone, an Enterprise team member at Alto, experienced what’s known as secondary infertility — a reality she says “isn’t talked about very much” but affects countless families. After a series of unsuccessful IUIs, she began her first IVF cycle feeling hopeful.
But despite more than 30 follicles, only four eggs were retrieved due to an unexpected physical complication. It was a heartbreaking moment.
“You almost feel hopeless, like what are your options?”
And yet, from that cycle came a single embryo… and a beautiful, healthy baby boy. Years later, Symone and her husband decided they wanted to continue growing their family.
“This IVF journey has been one that I never thought that I would go through and has been both emotional and beautiful at the same time."
As she prepares for another round of IVF, Symone reflects on how Alto made the process feel lighter during an emotionally heavy time.
“This time, I feel so much more prepared and knowledgeable and excited and ready… I utilized Alto Pharmacy for my medications, which was something that really alleviated a lot of the burdens that you can experience while already going through something emotional. Alto’s pricing is very transparent, they are easy to communicate with, they deliver the meds to you. They made my first experience just…easy.”
And her message to others going through infertility?
“Infertility is not anything that anyone should be ashamed of — it happens.”

Alex’s story: finding clarity amid the uncertainty
For Alex, the hardest part of the fertility journey was the waiting — the uncertainty that came with every step, every test, every result.
“It was an emotional rollercoaster of hope and mystery.”
He and his wife clung to each other through it all, finding strength in their care team and celebrating small milestones along the way. But what stood out most was having a sense of consistency when so much felt out of their control.
“In a journey full of ambiguity, Alto was one piece of the puzzle we could always rely on.”
From dependable deliveries to crucial conversations with expert pharmacists, Alto offered clarity and calm when it was needed most.
“They took a huge weight off our shoulders.”
Today, Alex is a proud father of two sons — and a member of the Alto team. His journey has come full circle, fueling his commitment to making fertility care more compassionate, reliable, and human — just as it was for his own family.
“I’ve been there, and I know how much it means to have a partner you can trust.”
